Preparing engineers to effectively manage human systems through the development of emotional intelligence (EQ).
The most volatile variable in any project isn’t the hardware or the code… it’s the people. We know most engineers would rather debug 10,000 lines of code than attend meetings, resolve conflicts, or deal with time-consuming people problems.
That’s where we come in.
We designed The I.E.S. System™ of Emotional Intelligence with technical experts in mind. With it, engineers learn to think clearly under pressure, communicate effectively, and navigate people dynamics.
Its components and benefits are:
This system is embedded in all of our programs to help you and your engineering teams reduce tension, conflict, and burnout, and, in turn, boost engagement, foster innovation, and develop confident, trusted leaders.
Keynotes, workshops, and seminars for conferences and internal leadership events aimed at enhancing engineers’ EQ.
1:1 programs for individual engineers looking to enhance their EQ, work on a specific goal, or prepare for leadership.
Custom packages including speaking, workshops, coaching, and other services to prepare engineers for leadership roles.
“I feel comfortable in my own skin. This experience was truly life-changing.”
“I had many epiphanies that only Claudia pointed out to me. The benefits I had were amazing! “
We work with engineers who are brilliant technically but struggle with conflict, communication, or influence. Particularly…
✓ RCG and Senior Engineers
✓ Engineers considering leadership roles
✓ Engineering managers and technical leaders
✓ Engineering teams developing leadership capacity
This work is led by an engineer who understands both systems and people.
With a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and training in emotional intelligence and leadership development, Claudia LeBaron Islas offers a practical, systems-based approach to leadership for technical professionals.
Having worked alongside engineers and leaders, she knows the pressure to deliver results while managing human complexity. This insight inspired her to found Kuanima, connecting technical expertise with human systems through emotional intelligence.
Claudia believes emotional intelligence is a skill anyone can learn. Her aim is to teach it to engineers, helping them become confident, trusted leaders with high EQ.
